Family card
Verdict by age
Not a general rating. How each age band actually experiences it.
Worth it with children of 7 and up, and teenagers usually rate it the best thing in the city. With a baby or a toddler, keep it short: one or two buildings is plenty. Do not feel bad about skipping the rest.
With children under six this is a lot of standing in line and looking at stone. School-age kids do better, and Golden Lane is usually their favourite of the four. Getting there is simple if you take tram 22 to the Pražský hrad stop, which leaves a five-minute walk to the second courtyard. The other approaches involve long staircases.
Tips for the visit
- The family ticket at CZK 950 beats two adults and one child bought separately.
- Tickets are valid for two days, but each building only once. Purchased tickets are not refunded.
- Leave by walking down the Old Castle Stairs to Malostranská metro if nobody is in a stroller. With a stroller, go back to tram 22.
- In summer tram 22 to Královský letohrádek lets you walk in through the Royal Garden in 15 to 20 minutes.
