Petřín Tower and Mirror Maze with kids

Petřín is the best half-day in central Prague for children aged 3 to 10. The funicular from Újezd reopened on 22 September 2026 after a two-year rebuild and now runs every 10 minutes, so the trip up is a ride in itself. At the top, the Mirror Maze is small and silly in the right way: a corridor of mirrors, a diorama of a 1648 battle on Charles Bridge, then a hall of distorting mirrors.

Fine

Children of 3 to 10 love the maze and the ride up. Older ones like the tower climb and the view. With a baby it is a nice walk on the hill, but the two paid attractions are not worth it.

The tower next door is 58.7 metres tall with 299 steps. There is a lift, sold as a CZK 150 supplement. Wheelchair access by the lift goes only as far as the 20-metre platform, so do not plan on taking a stroller to the top. There is a café in the tower and a public toilet nearby.

Tips for the visit

  • A single funicular ride costs CZK 100, with no child discount. 24-hour and 72-hour Prague tickets are valid on it, and children who ride public transport free ride it free.
  • Buy the combined tower and maze ticket: CZK 300 adult, CZK 200 reduced, CZK 600 for a family of 2 adults and up to 4 children.
  • Going down, the funicular no longer stops at Nebozízek. It only stops there on the way up.
  • The funicular is not wheelchair accessible. Tram 22 to Pohořelec is the other way to the top of the hill.
