Tickets and child fares
An adult ticket costs CZK 39 for 30 minutes or CZK 50 for 90 minutes, and a 24-hour ticket is CZK 150. Children under 6 ride free with no document. Children of 6 to 14 also ride free in Prague, but from age 10 they must carry a photo ID showing their name and date of birth, or pay full fare.
Strollers ride free
A stroller with a child in it travels free on the whole network. Raise your arm so the driver sees you want to board, and press the exit button before your stop. A driver can refuse a stroller if the vehicle is too full or the stroller space is already taken.
Metro
48 of the 61 metro stations are barrier-free, so check your station before you rely on a lift. On the train, only one stroller is allowed in each door area. Escalators with a stroller need two adults.
Trams and buses
All buses and trolleybuses run by the city operator have been low-floor since December 2020, and low-floor trams run on every daytime tram line. Tram 22 is the family line: it links the centre with the castle and Pohořelec at the top of Petřín.
From the airport
Public transport from the airport means a bus to the metro. Line 59 runs to Nádraží Veleslavín on metro line A in about 15 minutes, and bus 100 runs to Zličín on line B in about 18. Buy your ticket before boarding, at a machine or in the PID Lítačka app.
Petřín funicular
The funicular reopened on 22 September 2026 and runs daily from 7 am to 10:15 pm, every 10 minutes. A single ride costs CZK 100, and ordinary 30 and 90-minute tickets are not valid. 24-hour and 72-hour tickets are, and so is free child travel.
