National Museum with kids

The museum complex at the top of Wenceslas Square is two buildings joined by a corridor, and children under 15 get in free with an adult. It is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. For families the practical side is unusually good: changing tables in the toilets of both buildings, including the men's, lifts to every exhibition, free cloakrooms and a bistro on the ground floor of the New Building.

A solid choice for ages 4 to 10 because of the Children's Museum, and a cheap one since only the adults pay the main ticket. With a baby it is an easy, warm place with good facilities. Teenagers will give it an hour.

The Children's Museum inside is the part to book. It is designed for ages 4 and up and runs in 90-minute slots starting at 10:15, 12:15, 14:15 and 16:15, at CZK 140 per child. Strollers are not allowed inside it for safety reasons. Come in through the New Building if you have a stroller.

Tips for the visit

Bags larger than 40 x 30 x 20 cm must go in the cloakroom, which is free.
The bistro in the New Building is open daily from 9:30 am to 7 pm.
Children under 15 must be with an adult.
