Bakken (Dyrehavsbakken) with kids

Bakken calls itself the world's oldest amusement park, founded in 1583, and it sits in the Dyrehaven woods at Klampenborg. Entry is free. You pay for rides one by one or buy a wristband for unlimited rides, up to ten turns on each. There is a cheaper Mini wristband for children up to 115 cm, covering the 17 children's rides.

Cheaper and looser than Tivoli, and the walk through the woods is half the day. Ages 3 to 12 are the right fit. Do not build a trip around it without checking that it is open on your dates.

The catch is the calendar. In 2026 the main season ended on 13 September. After that it opens only for the autumn break, 10 to 18 October, the weekend of 23 to 25 October, and Fridays to Sundays from 21 November to 20 December. You cannot bring your own food into the park, though baby food is fine. Picnics belong in the woods outside.

Tips for the visit

Horse-drawn carriages wait at Klampenborg Station and run to Bakken. Fares are agreed with the driver.
A Fun Card with 44 coupons costs 199 DKK and can be shared between children.
Day lockers cost 60 or 80 DKK depending on size.
