Itinerary
3 days in Copenhagen with kids
Three days, with one big ticket per day and a park or playground in each. Bakken and Kronborg are swaps for day 3 when the season and the ages fit.
Day 1
Old centre and the water
- Morning
- Start at the Round Tower when it opens at 10 am and let the children run the spiral ramp. Walk on to the King's Garden for the playground and a picnic on the lawn.
- Afternoon
- Head down to Nyhavn for the one-hour canal tour. Use the public toilets by the ticket office first, and leave the stroller locked at the departure point.
- Break
- The King's Garden is the rest stop. With children of 8 or more, book a Rosenborg time slot for late morning and picnic afterwards.
Day 2
Zoo and Tivoli
- Morning
- Take bus 7A to the zoo for the 9 am opening and rent a cart at the entrance. Do the Kids' Zoo first while it is quiet and have lunch inside.
- Afternoon
- Go back for a rest, then walk into Tivoli in the late afternoon. Start at Rasmus Klump's World and save the rides for after dark, when the lights are on.
- Break
- Do not go straight from one to the other. Two paid parks back to back is too much for under-8s without a nap or an hour at the hotel.
Day 3
Aquarium and museum
- Morning
- Ride the M2 to Kastrup and walk the 600 m to Den Blå Planet for a 10 am slot. Two hours is enough for most families.
- Afternoon
- Come back into town for the National Museum, free for under-18s. With children of 6 and up on a dry day, swap this for Experimentarium by bus 1A.
- Break
- Eat your own lunch in the National Museum's lunch room before going round. If you fly out today, do the aquarium last and use its luggage lockers.
