Great

This is for children of eleven and over, who will get more from twenty minutes here than from a museum. Six-to-ten-year-olds manage half the length. For toddlers it is a pavement walk with nothing to do.

For teenagers who have covered the Cold War at school, this is where it becomes real, and the murals give them something to photograph. Small children see a long painted wall beside a road. It is flat and easy with a stroller. The visitor centre at Mühlenstraße 73 is open from 10 am to 5 pm and has a small bathroom, but there is no changing room on site. Ostbahnhof station, at one end, has a toilet centre with a changing table.

Tips for the visit

  • You do not need to walk all 1.3 km. Start at Warschauer Straße and turn back when interest runs out.
  • Change the baby at Ostbahnhof before you start.
  • There are benches along the wall but no lockers or cloakroom.
  • The visitor centre is closed from 24 December 2026 to 2 January 2027.
