LEGOLAND Windsor with kids

A theme park pitched at younger children, about an hour from London. Most rides are gentle, and the model village built from bricks holds a four-year-old's attention longer than you would expect. Pushchairs are allowed in the park and there are baby care facilities throughout.

Fine

Ages three to ten get the most from it. A baby gets in free under 90 cm but has little to do and a long day in the pushchair. Over-11s who like big rides will find it tame.

It is a full day and a tiring one. From London Paddington the train to Windsor and Eton Central takes about half an hour via Slough, and from Waterloo it is under an hour direct to Windsor and Eton Riverside. From either station you then need a shuttle bus, which is a separate paid service. Buy tickets online. They start at £32 against £68 at the gate.

Tips for the visit

  • Check the height restrictions page before you go, so nobody is turned away at a ride.
  • The shuttle bus from the Windsor stations is not run by the park and is not included in the ticket.
  • Only worth it on a trip of five days or more. It costs you a full London day.
