Magic Kingdom with kids

This is the Disney park most families mean when they say Disney. It has the castle, the characters and the largest share of gentle rides, so a three-year-old and a ten-year-old can spend the day together. Plan on a full day and expect to queue.

Ages 3 to 10 are the sweet spot and will remember it. A baby does fine in the stroller but the day is really for the siblings. Teenagers enjoy the coasters and will want to split off.

Disney runs a free Baby Care Center in the park with changing tables, a quiet nursing room, high chairs and a small kitchen with a microwave. Six rides offer Rider Switch, so one adult rides while the other waits with the baby and then goes straight on. Strollers rent for $15 a day single or $31 double.

Tips for the visit

  • Tickets are date-based, so the same ticket costs more on busy days. Check the calendar before fixing your dates.
  • Standard parking is $35 a day.
  • The Baby Care Center sells diapers, wipes, formula and baby food if you run out.
  • Rental strollers must be returned before you leave the park, so keep your own for the car park.
