Getting around Orlando with kids
Orlando is a driving city. The attractions are spread across three counties, and public buses exist but are slow between the parks. Most families rent a car or use rideshare, then walk inside each park.

Parking adds up
Standard parking costs $35 a day at the Disney theme parks, $37 at SeaWorld, from $35 plus tax at LEGOLAND and $15 at Kennedy Space Center. Gatorland is free, ICON Park has free floors in its garage and the Science Center charges $4 an hour.
LYNX city buses
A single ride on a LYNX bus costs $2 and an all-day pass is $4.50, which you ask the driver for when you board. Transfers are free for 90 minutes. Children aged six and under ride free with a paying adult, up to three children per adult.
From the airport
LYNX buses leave Orlando International from the A-Side of the terminal on Level 1, spaces A38 to A41, and serve downtown, the Florida Mall and the convention centre for $2. The airport quotes $38 to $45 for a taxi to downtown.
Car seats
Florida law requires a separate carrier or built-in child seat for children aged 3 and under, and a carrier, built-in seat or booster for ages 4 and 5. The law exempts taxis and other hired vehicles, so do not expect one to be supplied. Bring a seat or rent one with the car.
Stroller rental at the parks
Every big park rents strollers at the gate. Disney charges $15 a day for a single and $31 for a double, Gatorland $11 and $16, Kennedy Space Center $8 and $10 plus tax, and the Science Center $5. SeaWorld's cost $42 and must be booked before the day.
Day trips need a car
LEGOLAND is in Winter Haven, which the park puts at 45 minutes from Orlando. Kennedy Space Center is on the Atlantic coast and has its own $15 car park. Neither is practical by public transport with children.
