Jardin d'Acclimatation with kids

An old-fashioned amusement park on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, with carousels, a big wheel, a little train, animals and plenty of open space. It is gentler and far cheaper than Disneyland, and half a day covers it.

For 3 to 10 this is the best-value ride day in Paris. Toddlers have the free carousel, the animals and room to run. Children over 130 cm can ride alone, but by 12 or 13 most find the rides tame.

Access to each ride depends on the child's height. The park's own advice: buy the unlimited pass for children between 80 and 130 cm, and plain entry if yours are taller and only want a few rides. Children under 80 cm enter free and can ride the Petit Carrousel as often as they like. On weekdays in school term some rides are closed, so check the attractions page before you go.

Tips for the visit

  • Measure your child before you buy. The attractions page has a height filter that shows what they can ride.
  • Balance bikes, bikes with stabilisers and three-wheel scooters are allowed in. Other bikes, scooters and skates are not.
  • The park is open every day of the year, public holidays included.
