Tibidabo Amusement Park with kids

Tibidabo is a small amusement park on the highest point above the city. The rides are gentle by modern standards: a carousel, a big wheel, a red aeroplane that swings out over the view, a museum of mechanical toys. That is the point. A 4-year-old can go on a lot of it, and the funicular ride up is half the fun.

Fine

Best between 3 and 10. Teenagers used to big coasters will find it tame, though the view carries it for an hour or two. With a baby it is a long trip for a walk around.

Two tickets exist. The full park is a day out. The cheaper Panoramic Area ticket covers five classic rides on the top level and is enough for an afternoon with under-6s. Both include the Cuca de Llum funicular. The park does not open every day and closes in bad weather, so check the calendar on the official site before you set off.

Tips for the visit

  • With under-6s buy the Panoramic Area ticket: €21.50 over 120 cm, €11.80 for 90 to 120 cm.
  • The TibiBus T2B from Vall d'Hebron metro is included in every ticket, as is the funicular.
  • Measure your child before you buy. The 90 cm and 120 cm lines decide the price.
