Verdict by age
Not a general rating. How each age band actually experiences it.
Babies and preschoolers get little from it and you spend the visit shushing them. From 6 it is fine for an hour. From 11 it is the sight they will remember, and the towers become an option.
With under-5s, seeing it from the outside is a fair choice. With school-age children, book the basic ticket and keep it to an hour. The towers cost extra, children under 6 are not allowed up, and strollers cannot go either. Tickets are sold online only and carry each visitor's name, so bring ID.
Tips for the visit
- Dress code applies to everyone: nothing see-through, and shorts or skirts down to at least mid-thigh.
- Hats are not allowed inside the nave.
- Children aged 11 to 29 pay the under-30 rate of €24, not the full price.
