Verdict by age
Not a general rating. How each age band actually experiences it.
Great from toddlers to 10. Over-11s will come along happily enough but it is not built for them. With a baby it is mostly a nice shaded walk for you.
It is a long visit. Count three hours as a minimum and five if you stop for lunch at one of the two picnic areas. The zoo provides free lockers at the entrance, so you can drop the bags you do not need. Skip trying to see every enclosure with a toddler. Pick one half, play, eat, and leave before the afternoon meltdown.
