Las Golondrinas Harbour Boats with kids

These are the sightseeing boats that have run from the old port since 1888. The 60-minute trip goes out through the commercial port, past the cruise ships and a drawbridge, then along the beaches. The 40-minute trip stays inside the harbour and only runs at weekends.

Preschoolers love it. Babies are happy enough on a lap. School-age kids and teens find it pleasant but will not ask to go again.

For a child it is cranes, container ships and wind in the face, which is plenty for a 4-year-old. For parents it is an hour sitting down. The audioguide runs on your phone, so bring headphones or ignore it. The operator warns that departures can change with the weather, and the 60-minute trip goes out to open sea, so choose a calm day if anyone gets seasick.

Tips for the visit

  • The operator sells combined tickets with the aquarium.
  • Bring a layer. It is windy once the boat leaves the port.
  • The price for under-5s is not stated on the operator's site. Ask at the ticket office.
