Good from six and better from ten, when the height is a thrill and they know what they are looking at. Preschoolers get a quick look and then need holding back from the glass. We would not bother with a baby.
Tickets are for a fixed date and 20-minute entry window, and they go on sale two weeks ahead. Sunset slots sell out first and cost more, so go before 3:00 pm with children. The rooftop closes in rain, strong wind or high heat, though the indoor floor stays open. There are limits on what you can carry onto the roof.
