Cinecittà World with kids

This is a proper theme park, built around film sets, about ten minutes outside Rome's ring road at Castel Romano. There are roller coasters and water rides for older children, gentler rides and shows for younger ones, and it takes a full day. Do it if you have four days or more in Rome and children who need a break from ruins.

Great

Great from six up, when most rides open to them. Three to five year olds have enough to do but it is a long day. Not worth the trip with a baby.

Check the opening calendar before you plan, because the park does not open every day outside summer. You cannot bring your own food, and you cannot leave and come back in on the same ticket. Restrooms in every area have changing tables, three restaurants have bottle warmers, and strollers can be hired in the park, subject to availability, against an ID.

Tips for the visit

  • The shuttle leaves Metro B EUR Palasport at 10:30 and costs €5 each way, bought online.
  • Open-date tickets cost more: €39 adult, €30 child.
  • Children under 1 m must be registered and measured at the ticket office.
  • No outside food or drink is allowed in.
