Parque de Atracciones de Madrid with kids

This is the theme park you can reach on a short metro ride from the centre. Small children spend most of the day in Nickelodeon Land, a zone of gentle rides built for them, while older ones head for the coasters and the drop tower. Tickets go by height, not age: under 100 cm is free, 100 to 140 cm is the reduced band at the gate.

From about 3 years old there is enough to fill a day, and from 6 to teens it is the easy win of the trip. With a baby there is nothing to do except push the stroller, so skip it unless an older sibling needs the outing.

Online the two paid bands cost the same, and far less than at the ticket office, so buy ahead. Every ride has its own height limit and the park publishes a height guide you can filter before you go. Do that with the kids at home. It avoids tears at the front of a queue.

Tips for the visit

  • Filter the official height guide for each child the night before.
  • Lockers start at €10. Travel light instead.
  • The zoo is one metro stop away, but do not try both on the same day.
